Who We Are
Who is GPA Nashville?
Greyhound Pets of America - Nashville (GPAN) works collaboratively with adopters and perspective adopters, with rescue, humane and other greyhound groups and the racing industry to find homes for retired racers. We are a chapter of Greyhound Pets of America, the nation’s largest single-breed adoption group. Each year, 19,000 greyhounds retire from U.S. tracks and are in need of homes. GPAN on average finds homes for about 100 dogs anually.
Where
Our targeted adoption territory includes a 60 mile radius from Nashville, TN. Our adoption application and intake and home visit process help us identify appropriate homes for these gentle, loving dogs and to match people with compatible greyhounds.
Why
Retired racers are uniquely suited to live as companion animals. Affectionate and calm, they thrive on human attention and interaction, adjust quickly to home life and repay the kindness of their people with faithfulness and devotion.
