Who's at the door?

Sonya, for some unknown reason, was afraid of going in or out of doors. Here she is getting a little bolder standing partway in the kitchen door.

Here she is acting like she's not at all interested in the food on the table. She hasn't counter surfed, which is a good thing.

Her she is with my other foster Marcie. Both are sweet girls and get along very well.

This is Marcie's crate. Sonya's is a few feet away. Marcie's not thrilled at having this close a buddy, but they actually get along very well.

Sonya is doing well, but she is just a puppy and has a lot to learn. She was very shy and would run away if I reached out for her. Now, she enjoys my petting her.

She is a little bit of a pack rat. She collects my shoes, stuffy toys, a kitchen whisk, wool scarf, junk mail, headphones, etc. She never hurts any of her "treasures" and doesn't mind when I reclaim them. Her favorite is to take all of the stuffed animals out of Marcie's crate and bring them to hers. I will put them back in Marcie's and so the games go on.

She was so shy when she arrived that I didn't try to train her very much. I'm glad Marcie was her to be a big sister. So, I haven't trained her on a leash or stairs. She is smart and funny and I'm sure she will learn how to be a great pet and family member.

I see that her birthday has been posted as 9/1/2019, so not quite 1-1/2 years.

Getting to know her

Well, we made it home, introductions were made, and Marcie and new foster Sonya seem OK with each other. Although I do think Marcie (5 years old) thinks Sonya (1-2 years old) is a little slow. Sonya arrived in Nashville after about a 16 hour trip from Kansas... no eating, drinking or getting out of the trailer to pee or poop. I'd be slow under those circumstances.

I wish I knew more about her. I don't even know her birthday. She is very curious about what this "house" is all about. Loves being outside, even in the rain. Keeps looking up at the high ceiling and I wonder if she is critical of the cobwebs hanging out up there.

I'll post some pictures of her soon. She is a pretty little girl.
