Fan-Tastic!

Another day, another nap in front of the fan for my favorite toy and me.

This is the Life

Is this not a fabulous bed? And to think I used to sleep on a carpet squqre at the kennel.

So This is Retirement

Wish my buds in the racing kennel could see me now. Went out to do some business, barked at a few squirrels, did a lap. had a drink of water. Now, I'm ready form my nap with the fan strategically blow on my belly. I love retirement.

Great Day for Haning on the Porch

I don’t care if it’s 87 degrees. I love hanging around outside, especially on these cushy beds on the back porch. Also, it makes Squirrel Patrol easier!

Doin' Downdog

I LOVE this cool weather. I just wander around the yard sniffing things and hanging out. My foster brothers and sister tell me not to get used to it, that summer isn't over yet, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can.

The Peanut Paradox

Squirrels. I love squirrels. Esp. when they come to eat out of the peanut feeder. They say mean things about me and waggle their tails. Sometimes they just hang out on this railing yelling my name. One of these days I'm going to catch one of them. As I think abut it, catching the feeder and eating all the peanuts makes a lot more sense.

Shadow Dog

I didn't know I had a black littermate. Look at this guy. He's handsome and tall and everything I do, he does, even yawning. I noticed him earlier in the day when he was following me. Every time I tried to chase him, he got away. It's like that other dog in the closet mirror. He stares at me and if I look away, so does he. This being a pet is filled with many mysteries.

Hound Meets Stairs

You should see how fast I can go up these open-backed stairs. And inside, where the stairs are carpeted I can go up and down them so fast it sounds like a pack of dogs breaking from the racing box. Nothing really scares me. Not stairs or storms or fireworks or cats or even shiny floors. You see, I am a very brave boy, one might say bold and fearless. I often take on the squirrels across the street from inside the house. Important to keep them in their places. You should hear the way they talk about me.

So THIS is a Toy!

I'd heard about toys since I was a pup, but on the farm where I grew up, they were mostly old shoes and empty gallon milkjugs. They work pretty well, but this one makes all these great noises...it rattles and crunches and the more I bite on it, the noisier it gets. I've been playing with this one all day and have finally got it to where it's nice and slimy and stinky. Must have more of these. I heard a roomer that some toys actually squeak like it's alive or something. Next, I'm going to clean out the toy basket 'til I find one. Much better than an empty milkjug.

On the Deck

I had such an exciting afternoon. All of a sudden, there were 6 of my closest friends from Birmingham in my backyard. Seems somebody had brought these hounds to GPAN. Boy, was I glad to see them. Also was glad I didn't get a bath and a nail trim and microchipped like they did. Just Bob and Cruise are going to find homes here so I hope I get to see them again soon. The other four went on to GPA Louisville. That's okay. I get the summers are cooler there.

Watching and Waiting

Where are the squirrels? I love the squirrels but they keep running from me, so I guess they don't love me. Another home visit today, lost out to Expert. Anybody want a fun-loving hound? That's me. Don't let my half nose fool you, I'm as sweet as they come.

Hero

Hero - If any pup should have this name, this guy is the one. After surviving a disfiguring bite from his mom as a puppy, he is one of the calmest, happiest pups we have ever had In our home. He walks on a leash like a dream. He LOVES walks and is always right by my side.

We have 2 feisty resident Greyhounds and they adore this pup.

Be prepared to say no in the kitchen. His head is on the same level as our counter tops. But a very gentle no reminds him that they are off limits.

What a hero!

Sweet boy!

I am getting along great with the resident hounds and I’m enjoying the soft, fluffy beds. I’m calm and happy and am exploring the backyard! Jack and Berry said there are wabbits back here!!

I’m very tall and but haven't counter surfed yet. I’ve been a perfect gentleman!

My nose looks a little different but, so far, my foster mom says I have a fabulous personality. What’s not to love? ❤️

Big fluffy beds!! Hurray!!

On the lookout for bunnies and squirrels!
