I heard a rumor

I heard a rumor that I may be close to finding my forever family. Although I have adjusted so well in such a short period of time to my foster home, and they tell me they love me all the time, I’m really ready to be with my new pack. I learn the ropes well and quick, and I’m the right mixture of calm and sass. I am 100% ready for the retired life.

Super Chill ina a storm

Zappa is unphazed by the severe thunderstorm that is moving through right now. She is super chill! Thunder and big winds are nothin’ to her.

Appetite has come online

Zapata has been a, shall we say, finicky eater since arriving in foster care. She has been through a lot (adjusting to a totally new world, getting spayed, etc). So it has been hard to know if her lack of appetite has been a normal byproduct of all the commotion or something to be more concerned about. We have tried to temp her with several goodies, and we may have landed on the right one. Baby food. She ate her entire dinner tonight, which makes me very happy.

Still moving slow

I’m still moving around pretty slow from all the vetting yesterday. My appetite hasn’t come back yet either. My foster mom’s are gonna make sure I get lots of R and R today. Then it’s back to playing and going for walks and learning the ropes.

Big Day

Zappa spent the day at the vet, getting spayed, chipped, wellness checked and a dental. I’m told she did great through all the ordeals. She rode home peacefully and is crashed out now, where she will likely remain for the evening. She’s such a sweet girl, and her personality is more and more endearing as each day goes by. She will be a wonderful addition for her one day forever family.

Day 2

Just a minimal amount of whining at bedtime last night, but once Zappa went to sleep, she was down for the night. She went on her first walk this morning, and did great. I wouldn't say she has mastered “heel”, but I bet it won’t be long before she does. She was crated today for a couple of hours, and while she doesn’t adore her crate, she did end up settling down, and did fine. Today was pedicure day, and with a little ear rubbing by her other foster mom, she let me dremmel all of her VERY LONG nails. This is a good girl, and she is getting geared up for her forever home. And she’s a looker, too, don’t you think?

Settling In

Zapata, who we are calling Zappa, has arrived in Music City. She is settling in, and so far so good. She is definitely intrigued by this new world. But she seems happy and curious. So far, she’s not interested in eating, but who can blame her, with all the new sights, sounds and settings. Keep checking in, because we will keep you posted on how she’s handling retirement.
