Love To Play!

Hey everybody! Brim here!!

I really, really, really love to play fetch. Every time I go out to potty, I'm checking the humans' hands for a frisbee or a ball.

I just love to run after it, pick it up, then run around a bit before I drop it close to the humans to throw it again!

I'm a fun loving girl, just looking for my forever home.

I Had A Busy Saturday!

Hey everybody! Brim here!

Wow, I had a busy Saturday! I went to a meet and greet, and it was a blast. I got to meet a bunch of friendly people and a huge herd of greyhounds!

By the end of the meet and greet, I needed to take a rest. I sure loved all of the petting and scratching and attention that I got. I hope that one of the families that I met will want to bring me into their home.

After I got back to my foster house, I crashed. I slept for a LONG time. I didn't realize how much work a meet and greet can be.

But, I'll be ready for another one next weekend. Unless I get called for a home visit. That's my real goal ... to find my forever family!

Brim Loves to Fetch!

Hey everybody! Brim here!

My former foster families told you that I *LOVE* to play fetch! Every time I go out to potty, I'm looking at my foster parents' hands to see if they have something to throw!!

Below is a video of me fetching a dog frisbee. Twice!!

Come Out to Meet Me!!

Hey everybody! It's me, Brim!!

I'm going to be at the 100 Oaks Meet and Greet this Saturday, November 2nd. Why don't you come out and meet me? I promise that I will like you, especially if you scratch my neck. That's my favorite spot.

This is a picture of me with my foster sister Fitzy. We are very good friends after just a few days. I'm really easygoing and I like very person and animal that I meet!

This is a picture of when I met my foster parents' granddaughter. I really love children. And adults. You get the picture. I'm a happy, loving, friendly girl. I'm looking for my forever home ... will you come and meet me???

Don't Forget Me!!

Hey everybody! Brim here!

Sorry that I haven't posted lately. I've been getting adjusted to my new foster home. Actually it was a very easy change. I love my new foster parents and I love my new greyhound friend Fitzy.

(Truth be told, I love EVERYBODY!!)

I got to meet my foster parents' daughter and their 2 grandkids, and guess what? I loved them too!

As you can see from my pictures, I'm a VERY relaxed and chill girl. I haven't had any accidents in my foster home. I get to sleep as much as I want, and I get treats twice a day! What a life!

I'm looking for my forever home. I think that I need to be with another dog. If you already have a greyhound, and you are thinking really hard about adding a second one, then I'm your girl! Really. I get along with EVERYONE!!

New Foster Home

Through no fault of her own, Brim is at another foster home. With a bunch of new hounds arriving this weekend, the management decided to put Brim in a home with another greyhound, where life is slow paced (we are both retired).

Brim whined a little when her former foster Mom dropped her off, because she gets attached to her humans! Within 20 minutes, she was asking us for pets and smiling for photos.

She gets along famously with our resident hound Fitzy.

They love to be out with one another. They do their business and then find time to play.

Brim really needs a home with another pet. She really acclimates to a new home VERY quickly, and she bonds with people VERY quickly.

She met our daughter and grandchildren (3 and 4.5) last night. She was very happy to meet children and they really loved being with her.

If you are thinking of adding a "chip" (i.e., a second greyhound) to your home, Brim will be an EXCELLENT choice!!

A few more glamour shots

Lil B is one of the prettiest dogs I’ve ever seen.

On to the next chapter

Brim has had a really good experience at the Dogsitter while we were away; so good, in fact that the decision was made to place her in a foster home with other dogs and where she won’t have to spend much time alone. So many people are devoted to finding the best fit for this little girl, and she deserves it. She is a really wonderful dog and will be a loving and fun pet in the right situation. She is smart, resilient, adaptive, funny and sweet. We have been honored to foster her and trust that the universe has good things in store for the little angel.

And because she is so gorgeous, we thought we’d add a few more glamour shots of her.

At the dogsitter

My foster parents are out of town so I am with Auntie Cathy, my sitter, and the resident pups, Gina and Pawsy. I have learned the ropes here and am doing well, though I do not like it when they leave for a walk and I have to wait my turn. The truth is I just love to be with people and pups, and I really don’t like to be alone. If you are looking for a velcro dog, I’m your girl.

A fall walk

Went on a nice walk at Shelby Bottoms early this morning. I love it there. Walks are one of my favorite things.

A week of changes . . .

Lil’ B (as we have nicknamed her) is back with us after trying to see if she would be happier in a home with another greyhound. Some medical issues appeared while there (which was coincidental and not because of anything happening at the other foster home). We have made ALOT of progress on the medical front, but still trying to figure out what is going on post spay on the reproductive health front. Since coming back a week ago, Lil B has not had any accidents in the house or crate, she is sleeping through the night, and is getting more and more confident each day. She is the sweetest little girl, and beyond cute.

She went to her first dinner party, and did really well being in a new environment with people she did not know. Once the baseball cam one, she checked out.

Ups and Downs

This weekend, I played some fetch. I hope someone in my forever home knows how to throw really well because my fetching skills just keep going though the roof! Sometimes, I can catch the toy while it is still in the air!

It can’t all be fun and games, though. On Saturday, I wasn’t quite feeling like myself, so I ended up at the vet. I’m definitely on the mend and feeing better but let me tell you, it was quite a long day. I crashed that night after my foster mom tucked me in, and slept the whole night through, which I had not done since coming to my current foster home. It was a good snooze that I definitely needed.

Mondays are my favorite because my foster mom is off work and she gets to sit and drink her coffee with me. I love all people so much that I think when I choose my forever home, it will be one where I can be with my people a lot.

My foster mom wanted me to show you all this picture because she says I look so pretty. I am on the couch-I’ve been told I’m not supposed to be but I just don’t understand why! I just like to be next to my people! I hope it’s not a deal breaker...I just like to be comfy and close! I mind my best manners while I’m here, heck, I usually fall asleep and sometimes I even snore! I hope there is a spot for me on a couch in my forever home.

Hello Monday!

Hey there greyhound-loving friends! I went to the meet and greet at 100 Oaks this weekend. It was pretty good-I’m still gaining confidence with new social situations. I stuck pretty close to my foster brother Fox. My foster mom totally forgot to take my picture there, but believe me, I was totally well behaved. I jumped in and out of the car all by myself (for the first time!). My foster mom finally remembered to take a picture of me on the way home. Better late than never, I guess!

I do know I really like people, and hope I end up with a family where I would not have to spend a lot of time alone.

Today, I really enjoyed getting out for a walk. For being a young gal, and new to retirement, my foster mom said I walk pretty well on a leash!

That squirrel really caught my attention, but I did not try to pursue it!

And now I’m catching some zzzz’s. It’s been a good day.

New Beginnings...

Man, have I had a busy week! I started the week in one foster home, and ended up in another! I was getting a little anxious sometimes in my first home-my first foster mom, who I loved very much, thought I would do better in a home with another dog, so she loved me enough to see if that was the case. When I got to my new foster home, there was a professional retiree named Fox, and I’ve been crating better and learning the ropes from him! I have had a few accidents, but we are working on getting our schedules in sync.

My foster mom thinks I look funny and cute in this picture. Sometimes I just can’t figure out what to do with my tongue!

One great thing about retirement:comfy things to lay my skinny bones on! I do love a good dog bed, but do you know what’s even better? A human couch! My foster mom tried over and over again to keep me off, but I persisted!

I was a little bummed about not making it to the greyhound picnic this weekend, but my foster parents had to head to their family farm in Kentucky. I did great riding in the car, and just needed a little help to get up and in the car!

And once I got to the farm, I got to see all kinds of things I had never seen before. I like it just fine, but I may be more of a city girl! I was able to get pretty comfy pretty fast with my foster brother Fox!
