Never enough!

There are never enough chew toys, stuffies, or ear rubs to satisfy this hound!

I can never get enough of the roach!

Gear is part.snake, so help me. A pretzel would have a tough time keeping up with his curvetting

Oh, I miss racing!

Too funny! My neighbor with whom I share a fence just adopted a beautiful border collie. No sooner did Gear see her than he ran up to the fence, barking at top volume. She came up to the fence and gave him a piece of her mind. It was too dark to get a picture, but a race immediately ensued, with the foregone conclusion. Gear was in heaven! Finally, someone to run with!

If there is anyone who questions the description of the Greyhound as a large cat, take a look at this. Gear will snooze with the best, but he is an intelligent hound, with the nose in everything. He's a kissing fool! Snuggle might be a good name for him.

Gear Dog and His Toys

Gear loves to play with toys. We have a basket full of them that he loves to dive into. It is always a treat to see which toy he will pull out next!

Gear Dog Goes Adventuring

Gear went to the dog park and had a grand time. He did well with the other dogs at the park, but didnt let anyone bully him. Mostly he enjoyed running around the perimeter, checking everything out.

Gear is a BUSY BODY. He wants to be involved in everything around the house and will follow you for hours. However, he definitely knows how to relax as well. Here he is after helping his foster mom gather the laundry around the house. Hard work!

Soaking Up Some Rays

Ah, a sunny afternoon. Gear loves hanging around outside with Reta, his foster sister. Not sure why he only has his legs on the bed. Maybe he thinks the stripes on the cushion clash with the stripes in his coat!

Get Your Gear Here

What a handsome face. Gear is about the most stunning red brindle around. He's attentive, too. Always watching what's going on. More than happy to help...too bad he doesn't have thumbs. If he did, we'd put him to work washing dishes and sweeping the baseboards with his tail. For now, we're working on teaching him the steps. He almost has it. Stay tuned tomorrow.

Poor Gear, he hasn't been adopted and he doesn't understand why. He's a sweet boy, full of playful energy, who loves people (adults, children, babies), is cat safe, and very eager to please. He does bark, we're working on only getting him to bark on command, and he does sometimes "forget" how to walk on slick floors, but that is just an act. When he settles in, he is a wonderful guy.

Gear here. Foster mom made pizza from scratch earlier, and I helped. Now, I'm waiting patiently for a piece, as a reward, because I was such a great helper. I hope she eats fast!

Gear got a tiny piece of crust, because he was a good helper.

Friday March 3, 2017

Gear here. When I'm not practicing the art of Grey-shui (the art of arranging and rearranging things to please the Greyhound), learning to speak on command, and supervising foster Mom, I like to nap in the sunlight. It's a chance to recharge my batteries.

Wednesday March 1, 2017

Storm, what storm?

Gear is completely unfazed by the current weather antics. He says nothing is going to stop him from taking a nap until all the rain is done.

Monday February 20, 2017

Gear here! I had a really good time at the Winter Gathering, I talked to EVERYONE! Now, I am a guy who has an opinion, and when I get happy, I may bark to try to get you to play with me, because I want everyone to be happy too! I'm likely to whine a little when I'm stressed, but I get over it.

Oh, sometimes I have what mom calls "puppy brain" and I forget how to walk on slick floors. But, I currently live on hardwood floors, so don't let that fool you. Foster mom also says that keeping my nails short will help.

I like EVERYONE, kids, cats, other dogs. I also kind of like the parrot, but he does NOT like me to put my nose on his cage.

I respect that, and foster Mom says I'm a good boy for leaving the parrot alone.

I'm looking forward to my next adventure in my forever home.

Monday February 13, 2017

Gear here, I had a VERY busy morning and needed a little nap. I met a small human (9 years old) and I really liked him. He was a lot of fun, and he let me chase him up and down the hallway. He brought his dog with him, and I growled at him a little bit, but foster mom made me play nice.

Tuesday February 7, 2017

Gear here, foster Mom says it's a good thing I'm cute. She says that I'm a great cuddly pup, and that my kisses are the best. I like giving kisses.

I also like playing with my shepherd sister, now that I know she's a dog and not an alien.

Monday January 30, 2017

Gear here, I found a patch of sunlight to recharge my batteries in earlier today. Please excuse Cosmo's rear end, he did NOT get the memo about facing into the camera.

Tuesday January 24, 2017

Gear here, I like this dog bed. I like it enough to roach on it. Foster mom says I'm just a happy guy.

Monday January 23, 2017

Gear here. Foster mom says I'm a BIG HELP in the kitchen. She says she couldn't possibly make dinner without my supervision.

Roaching

Gear is very comfortable in his foster home, as evidenced by the partial roach.

Thursday January 19, 2017

Good boy

Gear had a busy weekend, with lots of stuff going on. He's a sweet, happy boy, who loves meeting people.

Thursday January 19, 2017

Hello World!

Gear here, my foster mom says its a good thing I'm cute, because I'm a nosy nellie. I think my nose is perfect and I have no idea what she's talking about. I'm just curious about everything. Did you know, there are dogs in this world that aren't Greyhounds? And some people let birds live in the house? Who knew? Foster mom says I'm also too smart for my own good. I learned to jump in the car pretty quickly and that she hides treats in the microwave.

I've been to a meet and greet, and the next day we went for a walk and I did the stairs with no problem. I do get a little excited and want to pull on my leash, but that's just because there's so much I haven't seen yet.
